               Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal Celebration

MPP Wynne nominated 14 outstanding citizens to receive the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Medal.  Don Valley West celebration ceremony took place on July 9 at Queen's Park.  Recipients came along with their family members and took part in a highly energized and celebratory event.  The individuals were from different professional and cultural backgrounds, though all equally competent, contributing and accomplished members of the community.  The honourees were:

2. Mr. Howard Birnie, Teacher, Baseball Coach;
3. Inspector Bob Crampton, Police Officer;
4. Mr. Aggrey Koech, Police Officer, Community Volunteer;
5. Staff Inspextor Heinz Kuck, Police Officer,Mentor, Community Volunteer;
6. Dr. Barbara Landau, Lawyer, psychologist, Certified Family Mediator;
7. Mr. Najmu Esmail, Community Volunteer, Tenants Advocate;
8. Mr. Arthur Manvell, Militaty General,  Historian;
9. Ms. Lynette Stethem, Business Owner,Mentor, Community Volunteer;
10. Mr. Michael Stevenson, Military Colonel, Community Volunteer;
11. Mr. John Walker, Army Major, Community Volunteer;
12. Ms. Judith Watkins, Nurse, Community Volunteer;
