Having just ended a snow-free November, I would like to share a few things with you.
First of all, there continues to be lots of discussion about the tax reforms in our budget. Here is a link to a recent report by economist Jack Mintz where he makes the argument that our package of tax cuts and harmonization has the potential of creating nearly 600,000 new jobs in Ontario over the next decade.
Secondly, I wrote an article on the issue of gender equity in sport in support of the efforts of the Toronto Leaside Women's Hockey League to get access to ice time in city-owned arenas and it was published today. This isn't a provincial issue per se, but I believe it's something we all should care about. (Click here)
Finally, I have heard from a number of constituents who have become caught up with the labour disruption at the DriveTest facilities across the province. I am also very concerned about this situation and have passed along these concerns to the Minister of Labour.
All the best and take care,
