Local Events - Premier's Statement
I hope you all have a wonderful long weekend. Today in the Legislature, our Premier made a heartfelt statement on the situation in Sri Lanka and most specifically in support of Canadians of Tamil descent whose interest is for the safety of their families and friends.
I wanted to share his statement with you which I have included below.
There are also a few events happening locally that I hope you will be able to attend. On Tuesday, May 19, I will be holding an Open House from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm at my new constituency office. For those of you who haven’t dropped by, my new office is located at 795 Eglinton Avenue East, Suite 101. I hope you’re able to come and chat with me and also visit the new space.
The second event is a walk on Sunday, May 31st from 10am to 12pm in support of the Aga Khan Foundation of Canada's charitable work. The World Partnership Walk starts in downtown Toronto at Metro Hall, then heads up to Queen’s Park and then back down to Metro Hall.
Every year, thousands of Ontarians help raise tens of thousands of dollars through this initiative. Everyone involved is a volunteer so every single penny goes to the Aga Khan Foundation of Canada and to charitable causes around the world.
I hope that many of you will be able to join me at 10am at Metro Hall. If you are able to, I would appreciate you making a donation to my team. You can do so at http://www.akfcnetcommunity.ca/netcommunity/KathleenWynne
If you need any information about these events or other matters, feel free to contact my office at 416-425-6777. I look forward to seeing you soon!
All the best,
